Auricular Acupuncture
Auricular Therapy OR Auriculotherapy, is acupoint pressure or an ear stimulation modality for a variety of conditions. It is mostly used as an adjunct modality for Acupuncture - to seal the treatment and/or alone for addictions and anxiety but can be an extra modality for any therapy. There are more than 300 ear points and it is a method of treating diseases and diagnosis by stimulation of specific acupoints on the external ear using a variety of needle types, ear seeds, ear tacks and magnetic balls.
IMAI's intensive course consists of 2 days of tuition combining both approaches of Traditional Chinese Medicine and that of Nogier.
According to a 2017 study at the University of São Paulo that sought to treat anxiety in nurses using auriculotherapy, “The best result for reducing anxiety was produced by the auriculotherapy with acupuncture needles. More studies and research will be introduced.
